CJ WildBird Foods was set up in 1987 on a farm in rural Shropshire by Chris Whittles, a lifelong ornithologist and wildlife enthusiast. Did you know?Ornithologists at CJs have researched wild bird foods through a food development programme that has significantly extended the range of foods available.Over 80 common species of wild birds can now be fed in gardens, compared to just 18 when we started.Our research has helped establish year-round feeding for garden birds with the endorsement of the RSPB.We can now feed birds during the crucial breeding months of spring and early summer, as well as through the winter. We were the first to introduce to the garden many of the wild bird foods that are now taken for granted. Hard to believe, but just 20 years ago foods such as black sunflower seed, sunflower hearts, Nyjer seed and kibbled sunflower hearts were just not on the menu!CJs developed and introduced a new concept in bird feeding - high energy foods such as Sunflower Hearts and Peanut Cakes.This important innovation means that birds can now get straight to the calories they need rather than use valuable time and energy cracking open seeds. This excellent 2-in-1 feeder provides a safe feeding haven for a wide variety of birds. The design allows birds access whilst preventing the body of an average sized squirrel from passing through the bars and stealing the food. Holds about 320g of nuts and 300g of seed and a matching fixing bracket is included.

The Feedsafe's heavy steel bars combine an attractive, traditional 'parrot cage' design with impregnability to most squirrels and large birds. Similar to the standard Feedsafe, but capable of holding more than twice as much seed in its strong polycarbonate tube, this superb feeder has 4 metal ports, each with its own perch, and disassembles easily for cleaning. It is even supplied complete with matching hanging bracket.

Based on the classic design of an old-fashioned parrot cage, the Feedsafe's heavy-gauge steel bars allow smaller birds in to feed, but exclude larger birds and all but the very smallest squirrels. The lid is chained for extra security and the base is domed so that all the nuts flow to the mesh - so there's no waste. The Feedsafe is supplied complete with a matching hanging bracket.
